Shamans: The Ones in Touch With Spirits
Shamans in the World of Warcraft are amazing as the class of hybrids. A long time ago, the famous class was attached to the Horde faction compared with that the Paladin class was specific of the Alliance side.
But, the thing has gone after the Burning Crusade released and Shamans became available to the players in Alliance with the Draenei race too.
Similar to the Druid class, Shamans is able to drastically change their spec to Casters, Melee damage dealers and Healers. The talent builds depends on the given talent tree you choose – Restoration, Enhancement or Elemental.
Many players prefer to a DPS caster that can own a damage meter, the Elemental talent build of your Shaman would be almost ideal. For better, you have to gather some gears that has a lot of haste, spell power/crit and hit rating.
With the talent points with the Enhancement tree, you have got a shaman that has a great melee damage dealer.
The Enhancement build requires adequate gear that has a lot of Agility, hit, crit and haste as well. A special ability granted to all Enhancement Shamans could summon two ghost wolves which help a Shaman in a fight against any enemy. These wolves come in handy especially if you are playing in PvP Realm.
A Restoration Shaman always is considered to be a good healer. His heals are mostly single target spells and he has a chain heal that has ability to heal multiple targets too. Resto Shaman also has his Earth shield, which he put on himself or any other friendly target in order to protect them from damage. Shaman healers need lots of mana regeneration – mp5 on their gear as well as the spell power.
Shamans are able to wear armors included clothes, leather and mail. Because they are leveling they will need to wear leather but as soon as they get the ability to wear armor made from mail, they should switch. Mail armor is always better for a Shaman since it’s stronger and has better stats. Mail armor made for Shimmies is rich in stats and it has intellect, similar to the armor of a Hunter since Shamans are also mana consumers.
If you choose to level up this class, it is suggested to put all your talent points on the Enhancement talent tree. An Enhancement Shaman doesn’t need as much mana as an Elemental Shaman and therefore he will drink a lot less which of course, will speed up your leveling. Do not forget to put some points in a special ability – the ghost wolf form since it will enable you to turn into your ghost wolf instantly!
Playing Shamans are fun and what made them especially popular in any type of game play is their ability to summon totems. There are four different types of totems – Water, Earth, Fire and Air.
The strength of the totems depends on the build and the cases with the use of totems, a Shammy can boost his group drastically. However, since he only use one totem from a certain element, he will be able to have a total of 4 totems active at one time.
Generally, Shamans are a very very curious hybrid class and they are fun to level up and play till they can change their build. Be assured that you won’t get bored while playing this class since there are so many options to choose from.
