Two New Playable Star Trek Online Races

February 3rd, 2010 in MMORPG,Star Trek Online

Seems we have missed to report the news about 2 new playable STO races when the Star Trek Onine officially launched. Because we are busy to prepare the sale for the STO Credits and its Power Leveling services. So here is the supplemental news for races Klingon and Ferengi in STO Federation.
As ZAM reports, the in-game Cryptic Store launching is a bit surprise to the players. But I guess it’s a great news for most of STO players as they are two new playable races, which are able to purchase! Why they should be purchased? Oh…My answer is they are in Cryptic store so…
One of the races Klingon race is sold at 240 Cryptic Points. Another Race Ferengi for only 80 Cryptic Points. Each race comes with a few race-specific traits — Warrior and Honorable for the Klingon, Immunity and Acute Senses for the Ferengi — and the ability to choose two more. Purchasing the race unlocks it for every character slot on the STO account.
The pre-order packages usually included Cryptic Points, so the races will essentially be free for many players, but fan reaction was mixed regarding the addition anyway. Many players felt it to be a bit of an underhanded move, with the phrase “nickel-and-diming us” being batted about frequently. Meanwhile, a similar number of players pointed out the free points that came with pre-order as well as the increasing frequency of microtransactions in MMOs these days, and moved on.
Read more about the features of the two races, just go to official Star Trek Online Store. And you can buy Cryptic Points from champions-online.com. Or just login into your STO account at game official site, and use top navigation to buy points.
Have a good and enjoy your Star Trek online life!

New FPS from LUG at Live 2009

October 17th, 2009 in MMORPG

Scouring the web for news, I just learned that Level Up Games will be announcing their new FPS game at Level Up! Live 2009 which will open on November 7, 2009 at The World Trade Center, Pasay City. GM Tristan hinted that the game will be powered by Valve’s Source engine which is the same system used on other FPS games like Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike.

“Powered by Valve’s Source engine, a system used in popular and well-received FPS games such as Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike, this new online game promises to give even the most seasoned virtual combatants an explosive experience. Its dynamic light and shadow effects and realistic textures create the most believable characters.”

I was once a big fan of Counter-Strike and if this new online FPS of LUG can come close as to the quality of gameplay of CS then I might just try it. Just because it uses Valve’s Source engine it doesn’t mean it’ll be good but if I’m going to guess then I’ll pick Counter-Strike Online or Combat Arms both by Nexon Corporation.

Anyway, whatever it is I guess we will all just have to wait until November 7, 2009 for the official announcement.
