Today I stumbled on FURY, Age of the Chosen, which is a PVP centered, action based mmorpg from Auran Games. For those who don’t know, backgammon is a board game played by two players. Players move their pieces after each roll of the dice and the player who removes all his pieces first wins.
I’ve played online chess through Yahoo but online backgammon? Nope! A few days back I stumbled on a site which has tons of information about internet backgammon. It’s more like a portal on internet backgammon. It has news, articles, tips and tutorials on how to play backgammon.
Online Backgammon is far from your typical, everyday mmorpg. As stated above, it’s a game between 2 players but what really captured my interest is that you can play for real money and if you are really good then you can join various tournaments sponsored by various online backgammon associations worldwide.
The site is 1on1Backgammon.com and on the main page is a banner linked to a small game client used to play backgammon online. The client is free to download and if you register for an account you’ll be awarded $5 as a Welcome Bonus.
So, if you are interested in becoming a pro backgammon online player (someone who makes money playing online backgammon) then 1on1Backgammon.com is a good site to start learning about the game. It is also a good site for those who just wants to learn how to play backgammon in general, online or offline.
